Danielle Auriemma was born and raised in New Jersey. She enjoyed doing anything creative from early on and was nurtured by parents who supported her interest in the arts; but it wasn't until the age of 30 that began attending classes at The Art Students League and Parsons School of Design , both of Manhattan. These classes confirmed what she always knew. The very first moment she first stepped into the studio,
She knew instinctively that the art world was home, and that it wasn't too late. After five years of undergoing classes full time, working part time, and caring for her sick mother, with the support of her husband Frank, Danielle attained her goal of earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with concentration in Illustration from The School of Visual Arts in NYC.
Ms. Auriemma-D`Amico`s images convey a slightly stylized realism. "Less is more," with her often muted monochromatic or limited palette. Her cropped images put the subject "in your face," giving the viewer an initial dramatic jolt, followed by an emotional connection.
“I consider all of my paintings to be portraiture. They say, ‘take time to stop and smell the roses’. While viewing my work, you may notice that many of my paintings capture the visual essence of this invitation. Indeed, there is an importance in seeing `the big picture` in life, however first one must dissect the pieces. What’s interesting to me is these pieces’ intimate qualities that make up `the big picture’. It is my pleasure to portray a `portrait` of the details and mood that many don`t take the time to stop and see. Some details are unnecessary. My job is to choose and decide which details stay to elevate the disposition and even the role of the subject I am portraying. An award winning artist, Ms. Auriemma-D'Amico's work has been published nationally and she returns to exhibiting throughout the United States.
She is currently the owner of Juxtapose Gallery where she is thrilled to continue creating and now teaching art as well as being blessed by using both her design and people skills simultaneously.
